If Thanksgiving is the marker for being in a playoff position, the Flyers did more than just settle for being among the contenders at the holiday. They padded the margin and made a move further up the standings to cap off a historic month.
Flyers Score 6, Down Struggling Red Wings
The Flyers finished Friday's game strong with Sean Couturier scoring with 11.9 seconds remaining in the second period to give the Flyers a two-goal lead. Three goals in the third period capped off a 6-1 win over the struggling Detroit Red Wings on Friday afternoon at Wells Fargo Center.
Flyers-Hurricanes Observations: Perfect Storm
For the second straight game, Morgan Frost was a presence, scoring another goal and assisting on the game-winning goal in the Flyers 5-3 win over the Carolina Hurricanes. That helped snap the Flyers four-game losing streak and get them back into the win column.
Flyers Call Up 3 from Phantoms
Defenseman Phil Myers and forwards German Rubtsov and Carsen Twarynski were called up from Lehigh Valley. Forward Mikhail Vorobyev was sent down. Defenseman Sam Morin was sent to the Phantoms on a conditioning assignment.

Kevin Hayes forced a turnover and scored on a breakaway to give the Flyers a 5-4 lead with 5:36 remaining in the third. An empty-net goal and power-play goal in the final minute followed, and the Flyers scored five goals in the third period to claim a 7-4 win over the Blue Jackets on Saturday night …
