The Locker Room with Billy Schweim Celebrating America’s Birthday

The United States of America will celebrate its 250th Anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence on Saturday, and The Locker Room with Billy Schweim will help you celebrate. 

The 4th of July Weekend is here and there are nine games left before the MLB All-Star Break for the Phillies.  After their loss to the Pirates on Thursday, the Phillies are only 3 games behind the Atlanta Braves for first place in the National League East. The Phillies will travel to Kansas City for three games, followed by three at Cincinnati, and they finish their road trip in Detroit.  It’s conceivable that the Phillies could be in first place by the All star break. Let that sink in!!

The Sixers new front office pulled off one of the most unbelievable trades of all time!! Wow, this 76ers blockbuster trade that nobody saw coming sends Paul George, an unprotected first round pick, a future first round pick swap, and two second round picks to Boston for All-NBA Two-way Wing Jaylen Brown.  It’s obvious that the new Sixers team president Mike Gansey wants to win now!!

The Flyers signed their star goalie Dan Valdar and 6’2” Ring winger Tyson Foerster to big contract extensions. Flyers GM Danny Biere is keeping his foundation together for the near future. The fireworks started before the 4th of July!

Don’t forget former Flyers Forward and Stanley Cup winning Head Coach Craig Berube will be at Blitz’s market of Ocean City on Thursday July 9th from 11am to 12 noon.

We will be very patriotic on Saturday and talk with Legendary Captain of the 1980 US Gold Medal Ice Hockey team Mike Eruzione. He’s in the new commercial that’s running during the 2026 World Cup games.

On Saturday’s show producer Nick Earnshaw will join me in the studio. We will talk about the big Sixers trade. The Phillies are travel to Kansas City over the weekend and we will talk baseball. In Hour One, we will hear from the Captain of the 1980 Gold Medal winning ice hockey team Mike Eruzione. Mike Bleeds Red, White and Blue! In Hour Two, we’ll hear from the owner of The Point, Patrick Holloway, about what’s on tap this weekend at The Point's three locations.  Then it’s time for the Beach Patrol Report with Jack Brooks brought to you by McCann Realtors of Sea Isle and the Ocean City Beach P Lifeguard Alumni Assocation.  This week we will talk with the Chief of the Ventnor Beach Patrol, David Funk. 

On Sunday’s show, Producer Alex Berardis will join me in the Studio.  In Hour One, we’ll go “On the Mound” with former Phillies Pitcher Tommy Greene brought to you by Blitz’s Market in Ocean City. Tommy will analyze the Phillies week and preview Sunday’s game.  In Hour II, Mr. Negadelphia P.J. Corda checks in brought to you the Vassar Pool Service.  P.J will react to the Sixers big trade, the Flyers signings, and the Phillies road trip.
