The Yard at Bally's in AC, NJ, addresses rumor its closing

Another social media "internet rumor" started this week that an Atlantic City bar, The Yard at Bally's, would be closing in September for good.

A Facebook post started:

The Yard, Atlantic City. NJ rumor mill says last day of biz is projected to be Sunday September 8 2024 as I wrote a rumor, so let's see as time goes on what's true and what's not true regarding this rumor. Time will tell.

Commenters quickly began to respond, with some even suggesting what would be taking over the spot occupied by The Yard, which is right off the boardwalk in Atlantic City.

Well, Bally's addressed the rumor, saying The Yard will be closing for the season on Sept. 8, and will be reopening for the summer of 2025.

The Yard is located at Bally's in the courtyard that used to be Harry's Oyster Bar. It is a very unique glass building, that has a roof that opens and closes with the change of seasons. It has been open in the winter in the past and is home to some really good live local bands.

It also had an outdoor area with seating that had some lawn games like cornhole.

I have been here a few times, so I am glad it's not closing for good, but am a bit bummed it won't be open in the fall/winter months.

I was at The Yard after the Blink 182 show in the summer of 2023 and saw a band called Isn't It Always and saw another band called The Rockets and really enjoyed the sound, both shows and the setup inside the venue.
