As prices get more and more expensive, there is one local town that, according to real estate experts, was just named one of the 10 Best U.S. Beach Towns to Buy a Home in Before Prices Soar by the popular website Travel + Leisure.

While places like Avalon, Stone Harbor, Longport, and Margate are becoming less affordable for families, Atlantic City is becoming a hot spot for people looking to buy at the beach.

“Atlantic City is one of the more interesting value stories on the East Coast. While neighboring Jersey Shore communities have experienced significant price growth, Atlantic City still offers relatively accessible entry points for coastal property ownership,” says Ginger Wilcox, president of Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate.

Big City Proximity Meets Beachfront Access

The article says that as of June of this year, home values in Atlantic City are about $220,000, and given Atlantic City's close proximity to places like Philadelphia and New York, the resort town is becoming more and more popular for buyers.

 “Buyers have access to beaches, entertainment, transportation infrastructure, and proximity to both Philadelphia and New York City,” she says. “Many buyers who initially begin their search in more expensive Jersey Shore communities end up broadening their search when they realize how much more purchasing power they can achieve nearby.”

Of course, that's not all Atlantic City has to offer: from casinos, shows, the beach and boardwalk to tremendous restaurants and nightlife, Atlantic City is a place to consider if you want to live at the beach for cheap.
