Congratulations to Wildwood's Jess Freeman who took some 70% of the vote to capture last week's 97.3 ESPN High School Athlete of the Week honors.

We have a new batch of local student-athletes this week who have proven themselves worthy.

You can vote for your pick, and hear the winner announced on the South Jersey Sports Report with Tyler Donohue Saturday morning beginning at 9:00.

Kristine Miller, Basketball, Cedar Creek - The standout senior forward scored 26 points and pulled down 17 rebounds during a 55-48 victory over Lenape at Holy Spirit High School, home of the 2013 Prime Events Shootout. Miller and the Pirates continue to look like a repeat title contender and handed Lenape just its second loss of the season.

Paul Moore, Basketball, Holy Spirit - The Spartans senior guard provided late heroics in a thrilling Holy Spirit victory over Trenton Catholic. Moore converted on a layup at the buzzer to push the Spartans ahead 51-50 at the Jeff Coney Classic, which is held at Rancocas Valley.

Kennedy Johnson, Basketball, Sacred Heart - She torched Egg Harbor Township in a Cape-Atlantic League matchup at the Prime Events Shootout. Johnson tallied 24 points and controlled the paint on both ends of the court throughout the Lions 48-34 win.

Logan McHenry, Diving, Atlantic City - The Vikings sensational diver continues to find success on big stages. McHenry topped some of South Jersey's best, winning a regional 11-dive meet at Rowan University.

Lightweight Wrestlers, St. Augustine Prep - The Hermits smallest competitors came up huge in a conference rivalry victory over Millville. St. Augustine's six lightest wrestlers (Reid White, Colin Donahue, Tom Gattinella, Ed Donahue, Jarred Hodges and Nick Clark) each won their matches in succession to solidify a 38-28 advantage and put the Hermits firmly in first place of the CAL American Conference.
