Wells Fargo Center, the home of the Flyers and Sixers, started to undergo changes over the summer, with a complete renovation of the mezzanine level of the arena. The renovations, dubbed “Transformation 2020” were started in 2017.

The next phase of this renovation will be announced over the coming weeks, but one big detail was unveiled on Monday. The Wells Fargo Center will be home to the world’s first Kinetic 4K scoreboard, that will expand to feature more than 6,600 square feet of 4mm LED video technology.

The new scoreboard is expected to be installed by the start of the 2019-20 seasons for both the Flyers and Sixers.

The new scoreboard will have 65 percent more LED screen space than the current scoreboard at Wells Fargo Center. It also features the “unprecedented ability to transform and be configured in a variety of formats to best highlight the action below.” The massive center display will be complemented with two crown trusses that will create a captivating experience with multi-directional movement.

“Comcast Spectacor is proud to highlight the next phase of the Wells Fargo Center’s ‘Transformation 2020’ initiative with the first Kinetic 4K center-hung ever to be installed in a professional sports venue,” said Valerie Camillo, President of Business Operations, Philadelphia Flyers and Wells Fargo Center. “Together with technology partners like ANC and Comcast, the Wells Fargo Center continues to innovate and further our commitment to be the most technologically advanced arena in the world.”

“It is an honor to have our team be part of this innovative undertaking that delivers a stunning visual spectacular,” said James “Winky” Fairorth, President and CEO, TAIT Towers.  “This technological advancement will have a major impact on the game experience.“
