PHILADELPHIA (973espn.com) - For the first time since undergoing season-ending ACL surgery back in December, Eagles star quarterback Carson Wentz was spotted at practice on Friday.

Wentz was photographed by NBCSports Philadelphia taking in the opening moments of the session inside the bubble at the NovaCare Complex and the second-team All-Pro seems to be improving incrementally.

Wentz had already ditched the crutches for a cane and Friday he was walking with no help other than a brace on his left knee.

Wentz was chatting with special teams coordinator Dave Fipp as practice was closed to the media for the day.

The only Eagles player missing from practice Friday was defensive tackle Tim Jernigan.

Running back Kenjon Barner, who was ill on Thursday, did return in at least a limited fashion although Wendell Smallwood and Torrey Smith took kickoff return reps at the session.

Meanwhile, running back, Jay Ajayi who was limited by a balky ankle on Thursday, was also at practice.
