According to a tweet from Dan Russoman, sports editor of The Hammonton Gazette, long time Hammonton high school football coach Pete Lancetta has stepped down.

Lancetta was 215-65-1 in 27 seasons with the Blue Devils,

Per a tweet from Russoman, Lancetta will join the Rowan football staff as an offensive line coach.

Hammonton athletic director Marnie Parks told The Press of Atlantic City:

"No one will ever replace Pete," Parks said. "They will forever remember Pete Lancetta, but Hammonton football is still going to be Hammonton football. Because that's what he built."

The Hammonton football twitter (@HHSDevilsFB) account also tweeted a message to fans about his departure.
