Labor Day Weekend means Phillies and Eagles talk plus CFB and NFL

The Summer of 2023 was a great few months for The Locker Room with Billy Schweim!  The Phillies pitching staff was on fire in June and the Offense was at full power in August while The Beach Patrol Report and Lifeguard Racing season kept us busy.  But as the summer winds down, we have the Phillies in the stretch run to lock up a spot in the MLB Playoffs while the Eagles prepare to start the 2023 NFL Season and College Football is on every day of Labor Day Weekend.  If you’re a Philadelphia Sports fan, there is no better time of year.

The Phillies head down the stretch of the regular season as they are the leaders in the National League Wildcard race.  They travel to Milwaukee this weekend to face the NL Central First Place Brewers; the Brew Crew hold a three game lead over the surging Chicago Cubs.  The Phillies had an August for the record books by smashing 59 home runs, a club record!  Bryce Harper and Trea Turner, like the summer sun, are hot, let's hope it continues!!

The Philadelphia Eagles kick off the 2023 season next Sunday in Foxboro, Massachusetts against the New England Patriots at 4:25pm.  The much anticipated NFL season is upon us and the hype is growing for another Super Bowl run for the Birds.  Are this year's Eagles trending up or will they not play up to our expectations?  We will make our predictions this weekend in The Locker Room with Billy Schweim.

Finally, if you love College Football then this weekend will put you into your happy place with wall-to-wall of great games to watch on TV.  Plus The Locker Room has a big announcement to make on Saturday morning, so its easy to say I love this time of year!!

On Saturday’s show, former Kansas City Chiefs Wide Receiver from Mainland Regional Graduate Dave Klemic joins me in the studio.  Dave’s insight and analysis on Saturday’s all football season is something you don’t want to miss.  We will hear from a 12-year NFL Veteran Quarterback who won a Super Bowl with the Baltimore Ravens: Tony Banks will talk about his football career and his thoughts on Jalen Hurts entering this season.  In Hour Two we will go to Las Vegas and talk with the Sports Book Consigliere Dave Sharapan.  Dave has his work cut out as there is a full slate of baseball and college football games in play this weekend.  "The Book" will enlighten us on betting the big games.  Then The Locker Room has a Big Announcement to make: Robert Pattillo, Vice President of Hotel Operations at the Tropicana and General Manager of Caesars Digital John Burkly stops by the studio to discuss the news on what is on tap for The Locker Room this football season!!  

On Sunday’s show, my Twin brother Bobby may or may not make an appearance in the studio to shake things up on Sunday morning.  Producer Danny Ryan and I will review the week in sports while giving our predictions on the Eagles' 2023 season.  As always every Sunday during the baseball season we go “On The Mound” with former Phillies Pitcher Tommy Greene brought to you by the John R. Elliott Hero Campaign for Designated Drivers.  Tommy talks about Phillies Baseball as they enter September at the top of the Wild Card Standings.
