The Philadelphia Eagles open up their 2023 season on the road this Sunday against the New England Patriots in Foxborough, Massachusetts with a 4:25 pm scheduled kickoff.  Because the Birds are coming off the most wins in regular season in franchise history and a Super Bowl appearance, we will see many of their games starting outside of the familiar 1 pm kickoff window.  The Eagles lost seven starters from last year's roster but General Manager Howie Roseman worked his offseason magic by replenishing the roster with young and exciting prospects.  Hopefully, the Eagles get off to a good start to the 2023 season to keep the good vibes rolling.  In Fact, the Birds own the most season-opening victories in the NFL since 2011, winning 10 of the last 12 opening weekends.

The Locker Room will be broadcasting Live every Sunday throughout the season from Tropicana in Atlantic City; Each week we will be set up inside the the Caesars Sportsbook.  We will preview every Eagles game and give you the “Keys to the Game” with 973 ESPN Eagles Writer and Fox 29 News Sports Anchor Scott Grayson brought to you by Blitz’s Market.  Plus we will hear from my Fantasy Football “Guru” Brian Hartley each week brought to you by Charlies Bar and Restaurant in Somers Point.

The Phillies went 3-3 on the most recent road trip and still hold the first wild card spot in the National League standings, five games ahead of the Diamondbacks entering Friday's MLB action.  The Phillies return home this weekend to face the Miami Marlins for three games and they welcome Trea Turner back from the paternity list after the birth of his new child this week.  The Marlins are very much alive in the wildcard race trailing the Diamondbacks by a half game.

The Phillies need Kyle Schwarber to remain hot: Since returning from the All-Star break Schwarber has hit 19 Home Runs in 49 games with a .400 On-Base Percentage thanks to 54 Walks.  After the Marlins series, the Phillies welcome the Atlanta Braves to Philadelphia for a four-game series.

On Sunday The Locker Room will be broadcasting Live at the Tropicana in Atlantic City!  Join Me, Mike Carlin, and former NFL Defensive Coordinator Paul Guenther.  The Caesars Sports Book inside the Tropicana will be jumping on the first Sunday of the NFL season.  Every Sunday we will get the Eagles “Keys To The Game” with Fox 29 News Sports Anchor Scott Grayson brought to you by Blitz’s Market in Ocean City.  We’ll review all the big NFL games on Sunday plus we will hear from my Fantasy Football Guru Brian Hartley brought to you by Charlie's Bar and Restaurant in Somers Point.  "The Guru" will let you know what players to start in Fantasy Football for this week's matchups.  In addition to the Eagles, we can’t forget about the Phillies' playoff hunt.  Every weekend throughout the baseball season we go “On The Mound” with former Phillies Pitcher Tommy Greene brought to you by the John R. Elliott Hero Campaign for Designated Drivers.  Tommy reviews the Phillies week and looks ahead to the upcoming series with the Atlanta Braves.

All that and more this weekend in The Locker Room with Billy Schweim, heard every Saturday and Sunday from 10 am to Noon on 973 ESPN Radio South Jersey.
