Only 11 New Jersey Colleges and Universities Made This Elite List

Approximately 16 million United States High School Graduates will be walking into Colleges and Universities around the country this fall. More than a rite of passage into adulthood, Colleges and Universities are where young adults prepare for their professional futures.

But parents are always concerned that their soon-to-be adults are not just getting a good education, but that the colleges and universities they are attending are actually worth the expense.

Tuition is up around 100 percent over the last 20 years, meaning what parents paid to go to college and university when they were teenagers, has now at least doubled the cost for their kids who are growing into young adults.

Since 1992, The Princeton Review has published their annual list of the best colleges and universities based on the following criteria:

11 New Jersey Colleges and Universities Make Prestigious List

The Princeton Review has released its Best 392 Colleges: 2027 Edition list, which selects just 14 percent of United States Universities and Colleges as the best in the country. There is no rankings, but you can learn about each universitiy individually if you want to take the time to read all 392 profiles.

We organized the New Jersey institutions in alphabetical order:

*The College of New Jersey (Ewing)
-Rated one of the Best Colleges in the Northeast, TCNJ has high Professor Ratings, and Quality of Life on Campus Rating

*Drew University (Madison)
-Named one of the Best Value Colleges in the US, Drew University has a diverse student body with a larger international student population, but an Acceptance Rate of just 68 percent.

*Monmouth University (West Long Branch)
-Named one of the Best Universities in the Northeast, 80 percent of Monmouth students have a GPA of 3.50 or higher.

*Montclair State University (Montclair)
-One of the highest percentages of in-state student attendance in New Jersey (97 percent), Montclair State has a high Financial Aid Rating.

*New Jersey Institute of Technology (Newark)
-Named one of the Best Value Colleges in the US, NJIT offers students direct connections to potential employeers after graduation with biannual job fairs, and regular professional recruiters on campus.

*Princeton University (Princeton)
-With a 4 percent Acceptance Rate, Princeton is one of the most exclusive universities in the Northeastern United States.

*Rider University (Lawrenceville)
-Thanks to an excellent Financial Aid Rating, Rider University has become a popular institution for students who were unsure if they could go to college due to financial and other obstacles.

*Rowan University (Glassboro)
-Named one of the Best Colleges in the Northeast, Rowan University has a highly rated Media and Communications program, along with a strong Alumni Network.

*Rutgers University-New Brunswick (Piscataway)
-Rated one of America's Best Green Colleges, Rutgers is a diverse student body with over 57 percent of attendees are members of Minority Groups.

*Seton Hall University (South Orange)
-For over 160 years, one of the most well-respected Catholic Universities in the Northeastern United States, Seton Hall has high Professor Ratings, and Quality of Life on Campus Rating.

*Stevens Institute of Technology (Hoboken)
