Which Two New Jersey Universities Ranked Among the World’s Best

For centuries, University-level education has been a symbol of educational achievement. While today's higher education does not have the direct link to professional success it used to have in the 20th century, University Education still has weight as a form of differentiation in the competitive environment filled by job seekers.

New Jersey, ranked as one of the Top Ten Most Educated States in America, has plenty of high-quality Universities and colleges within The Garden State. Along with the benefits of in-state tuition, there are 12 NJ Colleges and Universities on the list of the Best in America.

The Wall Street Journal's top ranked higher education institution in the US also made the list of Best on Earth

US News and World Report gathered data on over 2,200 Universities and Colleges around the world to create the list for the Best Global Universities Rankings. The criteria that built the formula for the rankings include these measurements:

*Global research reputation versus Regional research reputation
*Number of scholarly publications, and number of citations for research
*Measures of Scientific Excellence

Utilizing over 13 indicators to create the 2026-27 Global rankings, US News and World Report compiled a list of the top 2,250 educational institutions on earth, a list that has 105 countries represented.

Princeton University is tied at 14th best in the world out of 2,250 qualifying higher education institutions. One of the Ten Oldest Universities in the United States received high ratings for Mathematics (2nd best in the world), Space Science (4th best), Physics (10th best), Arts and Humanities (15th best).

The next New Jersey university to make this prestigious list is Rutgers University at 155th overall, which means two NJ higher education institutions are among the top seven percent in the world. Rutgers received high ratings for Food Science and Technology (20th best in the world), along with Agricultural Sciences (33rd best).
