Lets start first in Atlantic County in Egg Harbor Township, home of Rama Thai Restaurant at 3003 English Creek Ave Space E-6, which specializes in curries, noodle dishes & other traditional Thai entrees.

“The best Thai food in Southern Jersey” proclaims Rama Thai. I won’t argue. Start with the tom yum seafood soup, loaded with big fat mushrooms, and then proceed to the tiger tear salad, the best of its kind outside Bamboo Leaf in Bradley Beach, and finally the panang curry (with coconut milk, basil leaves, bell peppers, carrots and kaffir lime leaves), thick and luscious.

Rama Thai does lunch and dinner and is open Tuesday thru Sunday.

Next on the list, we drive out to Cumberland county to Millville, where Kawa Thai is located in Union Lake Crossing at 2196 N 2nd St. Its described as a chill, modern eatery serving traditional sushi & Japanese mains such as teriyaki, plus Thai dishes.

Mango chicken. That’s all you need to know at Kawa Thai. I normally stay away from fruit and chicken dishes (the fruit is just too sweet), but the mango in Kawa’s dish blends perfectly with the meat and veggies. Lunch specials are $9.95, and include salad and soup. Another must-try: the beef penang.

Do you have a favorite Thai spot that didn't make the list?

I have tried Chaba Thai Restaurant in Linwood and was very impressed, but can honestly say its the only Thai restaurant that I have been too in the area. If either of the places listed above are better than Chaba Thai, count me in!
