With the NFL season right around the corner, that means it is time to take a look at some futures bets.

What better division to look at than the division that hasn't had a repeat division champion since 2003-2004?

The NFC East is one of the most competitive divisions in pro football, making it one of the most entertaining betting markets around.

The last team to repeat as division champions were the Philadelphia Eagles in the 2003 season and the 2004 season.

This past season, America's team were the champions of the NFC East. Their odds to repeat as champions? +145 at FanDuel Sportsbook. More betting offers can be found here.

The odds to win the division are as such:

  • Philadelphia Eagles: +100
  • Dallas Cowboys: +145
  • Washington Commanders: +1000
  • New York Giants: +1000

(All odds are from FanDuel Sportsbook)

We'll start with the favorites, the Philadelphia Eagles. The Birds as the favorites make the most sense and are the most realistic, in my opinion. Not only do they have the most complete team top to bottom in the East, but they are coming off a once promising season, ending disappointingly. Not to mention they have a new offensive coordinator in Kellen Moore (former Cowboys OC) and signed star running back Saquon Barkley in the offseason.

With the Cowboys, the obvious needs to be mentioned, they're the defending champions. Like we said, we have not seen a repeat champion in 20 years in this division. Dallas is a team that is always respected and they have a solid roster, but with all the issues the team has from ownership to coaching, down to the players, taking the Cowboys to win the division and be the first repeat champions in two decades is not the bet for me.

The Washington Commanders are an interesting team. Things are trending up for this organization, with new ownership taking over as well as drafting Heisman winning quarterback Jayden Daniels from LSU, things do seem a lot better than they once were in Landover, Maryland. At +1000, sprinkling some money on the Commanders would not be the worst idea in the world if you are looking for a real underdog story.

The New York Giants out of all of the NFC East teams is the one I would stay far away from. Sure, they drafted top Wide Receiver Malik Nabers and made some solid offseason signings such as Brian Burns, but the biggest question mark for this team is the quarterback. No one knows what Daniel Jones we will see, and when your quarterback is a question mark, your whole team is a question mark.

For me, the best bet to win the NFC East is none other than the Eagles at +100. They are the favorites to win it, but when you look at the rosters and of course the history, the safest and best bet to win the NFC East is the Philadelphia Eagles.
