Buena Football Hires Frank Riggitano

The Buena Regional football program has found its new leader.

Former head football coach Kyle Klein announced he was stepping down back in late May to take over the Delsea Crusaders program, leaving the Chiefs looking for a new leader.

Klein spent two seasons at Buena, going 7-12 during his two seasons with the Chiefs.

They found a South Jersey Football Coaches Hall of Famer, former Middle Township Panthers coach, and the winningest coach in Cape May County, Frank Riggitano.

From Panther to Chief: Frank Riggitano Takes the Helm

After being approved at the board meeting on Tuesday night, Riggitano said, "I'm a Chief", after spending 22 seasons as a Panther.

A Hall of Fame Resume Comes to Buena

Riggitano led Middle Township for two separate stints on the sideline, amassing a record of 111-110, and guided Middle to seven playoff berths. He also served as the Panthers Athletic Director and the school's principal during his time with the school.

Coming Out of Retirement

He retired from coaching after the 2023 season, but did leave the door open at that time for a return to coaching and will now walk the Chiefs' sidelines this fall.

"Staying still is just not an option for me," Riggitano said in a social media post. With continued family support, I get to help kids again, coaching the greatest game in the world."
