There seems to be a few likely choices from the teams that play in major sports leagues, so here is a quick look at some of them, and their odds to win that sport.

Toronto Blue Jays, MLB, +1400 odds to win 2022 World Series: there is a lot of hype around this team, after it won 91 games last season. But remember, even with that record, the Blue Jays finished fourth in the AL East, and missed the playoffs. That should tell you how strong the division is, and the Wild Card game is a crapshoot.

Toronto Maple Leafs, NHL, +900 odds to win 2022 Stanley Cup: maybe the best team to pick, but you have to take the curse that goes with picking the Leafs. Toronto is right in the race at the top of the Atlantic Division, and you have to think AT SOME POINT the Leafs will break through and make a run; why not this year?

Calgary Flames, NHL, +1000 odds to win 2022 Stanley Cup: the Flames are on fire right now, leading the Pacific Division with nine wins in 10 games. Calgary could be a very interesting play.

Toronto FC, MLS, +1400 odds to win 2022 MLS Cup: this club won a title in the recent past, and might be set up to make another run.

“Right now, I have to think that the Toronto Blue Jays look the most likely Canadian team to win a title in 2022,” an Offers.bet (betting promotions aggregator) spokesman said. “If, of course, there is a Major League Baseball season, or maybe close to a full season. If the season is shortened, you might see the odds change a bit: remember back to 2020, when the Tampa Bay Rays won the American League with their dominant bullpen. “The Toronto Raptors are +10000, and probably will not pull off a repeat of their 2019 NBA title. The rest of the Canadian teams are far down the list.

“So I think maybe you could take a shot with the Blue Jays and Maple Leafs, and maybe throw a little on the Flames.”
