The Cape Express Beach Blast is back this weekend and will take over sections of Wildwood Beaches, making this one of the biggest Summer Sports Events in South Jersey each year.

Since 2008, Cape Express Soccer Club has partnered with Morey's Piers to host these 5-on-5 Soccer Tournaments with multiple games happening on different beaches simultaneously, this year's event coming up on Saturday, June 24th and Sunday, June 25th. The takeover this year will be from Poplar Avenue to Cedar Avenue hosting the "North Fields" which can have 40 games being played at the same time. The next section of beaches will be from Schellenger Avenue to Spencer Avenue hosting the "Central Fields" featuring 31 Fields sectioned off for games to be played. The final section is from Roberts Avenue to Baker Avenue serving as host to 8 fields in the "South Section".

This is an event featuring Youth Divisions and Adult Divisions with everyone being assigned to age groups, competing for the Trophy each year for the winner of that Age Group. Also what makes this event unique is every participant must play without shoes or sneakers, a throwback to the days when we all played games on the beach with our friends (for bragging rights, of course; I never got a trophy for competing against my friends!)

The Cape Express Soccer Club is one of the top Youth Soccer Organizations in South Jersey with Youth Travel Soccer Teams (Under 8 years old to Under 14 years old), Varisity Academy for local High School Soccer Players, along with Men's and Women's Amateur Programs for College Level Players. So if you are going to the beach in Wildwood this weekend, can't say you weren't warned about the Cape Express takeover of the beaches around Morey's Piers in Wildwood.
