Dave Weinberg’s Steelers-Eagles 2-minute drill
Eagles’ best number: 219 (combined receiving yards by A.J. Brown (110) and DeVonta Smith (109))
Eagles’ worst number: 2 (Turnovers in the first quarter)
View from my living room:
Prepped for the game by taking three of my four grandsons to see “The Polar Express” at the IMax Theater at Tropicana Atlantic City. They were enthralled and amazed, as was Poppy.
Three stars
- Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts (25-32-290 yards and 2 TDs, 1 TD rushing).
- Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown (8 receptions, 110 yards, 1 TD).
- Steelers defensive end T.J. Watt (2 sacks, 1 tackle for loss, 7 total tackles).
Eagles’ best play
The entire Eagles offense deserves credit for controlling the clock. The Eagles held the ball for nearly 40 minutes to the Steelers’ 20.
Eagles’ worst play
Eagles punt returner Cooper DeJean coughed up a fumble on a hit by Steelers linebacker Mark Robinson. Linebacker Nick Herbig recovered it to set up Chris Boswell’s 37-yard field goal that tied the game at 3-3.
Turning point
Down 20-13, the Steelers were driving toward a potential game-tying touchdown in the third quarter when Steelers running back Najee Harris fumbled a pitchout that was recovered by Eagles cornerback Darius Slay. The Eagles subsequently drove 74 yards and took a commanding, 27-13 lead on Hurts’ 1-yard sneak.
