Eagles first-year head coach Nick Sirianni has the best record, along with the Chargers Brandon Staley, among rookie head coaches.

He has made an impressive turnaround, going 6-2 over his last eight games, since starting the year at 2-5.

Success typically gets you noticed and that's why rival teams could look at Sirianni's staff when thinking about their next head coach.

More Eagles Coverage: Miles Sanders Season Could be Over

Speaking on 'Good Morning Football' on Monday, NFL Network's Peter Schrager  mentioned Eagles defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon as one of six possible head coaching candidates this offseason.

"Might not be a familiar name, but he has been around the league for quite sometime," Schrager said about Gannon. "He was in Minnesota, was a DB's coach, then went to Indianapolis where everyone wanted his services this year.  He was in talks to go with Arthur Smith, but eventually he went with Sirianni.  Gannon is a young face, a defensive coach and a guy that everyone swears by and someone I think will get some head coach interviews."

While Gannon's unit might not be flashy, the numbers are starting to speak for themselves.

Since Week 8 (not counting the Week 16 game against Giants) the Eagles defense ranks in the Top 10 in these six defensive categories.

Depending on how many job openings there are, I wouldn't expect Gannon to get a head coaching job this offseason.  However, if the Eagles can add more talent to the defensive side of the ball, they may have found a good coordinator for the short-term, but it seems he will be a name to watch moving forward.
