Eagles declared QB Michael Vick inactive for Sunday's week seven game against the Cowboys.

The news is not a shock, he practiced on a limited basis this week, but it means Philadelphia will be facing Dallas without its starting quarterback. Vick will not be starting due to a hamstring injury for the second straight week

That means for the second straight week, Nick Foles will play in place of Vick, Foles had started six games for Philadelphia last season. Foles, a third-round draft pick had some moments last week against a poor New York defense and performed nearly flawlessly in the week six win at Tampa.  Foles completed 22-of-31 passes for 296 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions, and ran for another score in the 31-20 win at Tampa.

The Cowboys will also be missing their starting running back DeMarco Murry and defensive end DeMarcus Ware, both are inactive for Sunday’s week seven game against the Eagles with injuries. The Cowboys will resort to Kyle Wilber opposite George Selvie at defensive end with Ware not expected to be active, and Anthony Spencer (microfracture surgery) already on injured reserve.

Eagles inactives: QB Mike Vick, S Pat Chung, RB Chris Polk, DB Shaun Prater, G Matt Tobin, T Dennis Kelly and DL Damion Square..

Cowboys inactives: DE DeMarcus Ware, RB DeMarco Murray, RB Lance Dunbar, LB DeVonte Holloman, G David Arkin and T Darrion Weems.

Reaction:

Vick was never expected to play despite being listed as questionable, his return to the line-up is now up-in-the-air, and if Foles preforms well again, Vick might no regain the starting position.  As for Foles, he notched his second  career win as a starter last week at Tampa, when he completed 22-of-31 passes for 296 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions, and ran for another score – he might not need to duplicate that today, with a banged-up Cowboys defense, the Eagles can lean on LeSean McCoy and the running game in this game.

The Cowboys have lost many players on the defensive line and have been bringing guys in off-the-street to play, without Ware, the Eagles should have the ability to run and pass, giving them very good offensive balance.  On the flip side, without Murray, the Cowboys could become very one dimensional, giving the Eagles average defense a chance to compete against a very potent Dallas passing attack.

Eagles rookie QB Matt Barkley will be active for the second straight week, he will be the back-up quarterback, should Foles get hurt he would be the next man up.  James Casey is active and is the third emergency quarterback.
