Eagles Lose Landon Dickerson for Thursday Night Clash vs Giants
The Philadelphia Eagles' injury report included a key name that will miss Thursday's game against the New York Giants, with Landon Dickerson listed as out.
Injury Details and Timeline
Dickerson suffered the ankle injury in Philadelphia's Week 5 loss to the Denver Broncos when teammate Jordan Mailata fell on his ankle. Dickerson tried to continue, but ultimately left the game and will not play this week's game, and could miss multiple games, per Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer.
Brett Toth Steps In at Left Guard
Veteran Brett Toth, who has been with the Eagles since going undrafted in 2019, replaced Dickerson in the lineup last week and will likely start just his third NFL game against the Giants.
Sirianni’s Confidence in Toth Moving Forward
"We trust him and he has done a good job when he's been able to go in in times where we've needed him," said Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni on Wednesday. A lot of confidence in Brett Toth. Think he's extremely tough mentally, physically, extremely high football IQ of what he can see and diagnose. He's talented and there's a reason he's been with the Philadelphia Eagles as long as he's been with the Philadelphia Eagles."
The Eagles' offensive line has not been nearly the same unit that helped pave the way for Saquon Barkley's historic 2000-yard season in 2024. Health has been part of the issue. Dickerson has been banged up, center Cam Jurgens has said he is not back to full strength just yet, and right tackle Lane Johnson has missed parts of games with a stinger.
Having Dickerson sit out this week will give him some much-needed time off to hopefully get himself healthy for the long run.
