The Philadelphia Eagles today announced they have placed the franchise tag on WR DeSean Jackson. The wide receiver was scheduled to become a free agent on March 13.

Eagles GM Howie Roseman joined the Sports Bash, here are some of the things he had to say about Jackson: "We want DeSean to be an Eagle for the long haul and this is a step ... to accomplish that," announced GM Howie Roseman.
"We will continue our efforts on getting a long-term deal done with him."
Reports are that the Eagles are reportedly open to trade offers on Jackson, though the most likely scenario is a return to Philadelphia at $9.4 million.  Does this mean that he will be missing offseason workouts in protest?

He is our conversation with Roseman:

The Philadelphia Eagles today announced they have placed the franchise tag on WR DeSean Jackson. The wide receiver was scheduled to become a free agent on March 13.

The team’s 2nd round draft pick in 2008, Jackson earned a Pro Bowl berth following the 2009 and 2010 seasons as he has hauled in 229 passes for 4,085 yards and 21 touchdowns. Additionally, he has rushed for three scores during his career as well as posting a team-record four touchdowns on punt returns. He is one of five players in NFL history to post 900-or-more yards in each of their first four campaigns and has the most receiving yards by any Eagle after their first four seasons in Philadelphia.
