Philadelphia Eagles starting center Cam Jurgens and right tackle Lane Johnson each sat out practice on Wednesday.

New edge rusher Jaela Phillips was listed as a limited participant, according to the team’s Wednesday practice report.

Jurgens, who returned to the lineup last week against Detroit after missing the previous two games with a knee injury, suffered in Philadelphia’s Week 7 game against the Vikings, sustained a concussion during the team's 16-6 win over the Lions on Sunday.

Sirianni Expresses Confidence in Reserve Players

Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni said Friday the team takes pride in the backups being ready when called upon.

"We take a lot of pride in our backups being ready to go when called upon because we know this is a long season where you'll have to count on them a lot. Brett's done a really phenomenal job, and I’ve got a lot of faith in him when called upon to play."

Jurgens is in concussion protocol after leaving the game on Sunday against Detroit.

Johnson is expected to be out 4-6 weeks with a Lisfranc sprain and has been in and out of the lineup all season due to multiple injuries.

"You will miss Lane, no doubt, if he's unable to go," Sirianni said. But I have a lot of faith in the guys that we have and obviously faith in the process that we have to get ourselves ready with different players."

Fred Johnson likely gets the start at right tackle while Johnson is sidelined.

Other Notable Practice Participants

Two names that were listed as full participants were rookie tackle Myles Hinton, a sixth-round pick out of Michigan, and rookie center/guard Willie Lampkin, who was claimed off waivers by Philadelphia back in August from the Rams.

Both players could end up providing some much-needed depth down the stretch for Philadelphia, with the injuries mounting to the offensive line.

The Road Ahead: Eagles vs. Cowboys

The Eagles (8-2) face the Cowboys (4-5-1) in Dallas on Sunday in a key NFC East game.  With a win, the Eagles can pretty much wrap up the division crown for the second straight season.  A Dallas win would keep them alive for both the division and a potential NFL Wild Card berth.
