Eagles Edge Rusher Jonathan Greenard Lands on PUP List to Start Training Camp
The Philadelphia Eagles announced that new edge rusher Jonathan Greenard will open training camp on the Physically Unable to Perform list after injuring his pectoral muscle lifting weights in the offseason.
Greenard was acquired from the Vikings in a trade in April and signed to a four-year, $100 million extension with $50 million guaranteed. The deal comes a year after he had just three sacks over 12 games last season while totaling 38 tackles and 10 TFLs with the Vikings.

He did have a 12.5-sack season in 2023 and a 12-sack season in 2024, so the Eagles are hoping he can get back to that level of production in 2026.
However, he will likely miss most of camp, according to Eagles defensive coordinator Vic Fangio on Wednesday.

"He's going to miss a good bit of camp," Fangio admitted.
"Obviously he's a veteran player, so he knows the league, knows how to play, but we're going to be asking him to do some different things that he hasn't had to do in his career, Fangio said. That's really what he's going to be missing with this time off."
Fangio wasn't ready to say if Greenard would even be ready to start the season, September 13 against Washington.

"That remains to be seen," Fangio acknowledged.
Learning the System: How Missing Camp Impacts Greenard’s Role
Fangio said he expects Greenard to drop back in coverage a little bit, something he will need to learn once he is ready to practice.
"I do think he's capable of it, but he's got to learn it," Fangio explained. The only way you learn it is to do it. He does a good job in the meetings; he's paying attention, he's focused, watching practice, but it's not the same."
