Eastern quarterback Tom Flacco made sure the weather wasn't the only thing that ruined Williamstown's homecoming celebration.

Joe Flacco's younger brother found the endzone on a 28-yard run, and Kingsley Ayeni added another score to put the Vikings up for good as Eastern topped Williamstown 14-0 in the pouring rain.

The Courier Post’s Kevin Minnick breaks down the best Friday night games from across the West Jersey Football League, including more on why it wasn't one of the most memorable of celebrations for Williamstown.

Here’s a preview of some of the other interviews from this week’s edition of the South Jersey Sports Report:

  • It's back to business as usual for one surprisingly good local, just a week after their only loss of the season. We asked one of the Cape-Atlantic League's best running backs how his team got it done in the rain on Friday night
  • Last week the Pleasantville Greyhounds earned their first win in four seasons. Find out from one coach why the celebration was short-lived during a tough week of practice, and how the mentality is slowly changing in the locker room
  • Press of Atlantic City sports writer Mike McGarry breaks down all the action in the Cape-Atlantic League, including what effects the nasty weather conditions had on four big primetime games
  • One local athlete may be doing big things on the football field this fall, but he's got even loftier goals on the court when basketball season tips off this December. Find out what motivates one of South Jersey's most versatile talents, and what factored into one of the most important decisions of his life

Listen to this week's show:

Joe Wilson, Pleasantville Greyhounds assistant coach

Stefon Bowman, Bridgeton Bulldogs junior running back

Mike McGarry, Press of Atlantic City sports reporter

Jahleem Montague, Atlantic City Vikings multi-sport athlete

We’d also like to congratulate the South Jersey Athlete of the Week:

Alex Padovani

Football, Hammonton

The senior hauled in two touchdown catches in a 24-6 win over Bridgeton. Padovani, a Villanova commit, also kicked a field goal and three extra points to account for 18 total points in the matchup. He also added a key interception on defense in the team's rain-soaked 21-0 victory over Atlantic City.
