Flyers-Blackhawks Preview: Battle at the Bottom
For most of the month of March, the Flyers have faced teams destined for the playoffs. After seven straight games against current playoff teams, the Flyers next face one of the bottom two teams in the standings.
The Flyers have lost four straight games entering Sunday. The Chicago Blackhawks are on a seven-game losing streak.
Game time is 3 p.m.
Matvei Michkov gets his second meeting with the top pick of his draft class, and stood out in the first matchup, scoring the overtime winner on Nov. 23. Michkov snapped a six-game points drought with an assist on Saturday.
Connor Bedard continues to lead the Blackhawks with 19 goals and 54 points on the season. Bedard has scored two goals in the last three games entering Sunday.
Sam Ersson is expected to get the start for the Flyers. Ersson entered Saturday's game against Dallas in relief of Ivan Fedotov, stopping all 15 shots in the final two periods before allowing the game-winning goal on the opening shot of overtime.
Spencer Knight gets the start for the Blackhawks. Knight made 30 saves on 32 shots in a loss to the Los Angeles Kings on Thursday. Knight is on a personal four-game losing streak after winning his first two starts since being traded to Chicago.
