The Philadelphia Flyers are officially back on the ice to open the preseason on Monday night. They travel to Hershey to take on the Washington Capitals in the opener, the first of four games on the preseason schedule this week.

It's a different look to the preseason this season, as it is with training camp. By this time next week, the Flyers will be through with the preseason, the roster will be set, and it will be 48 hours until puck drop on the 2026-27 regular season. That leaves little time to get a look at players in game action before making final decisions.

Game time is 7 p.m.

The Flyers roster for the game is as follows:

Forwards

Defensemen

Goalies

Considering the limited number of preseason games, and the start of the preseason for the Lehigh Valley Phantoms later this week, it seems that the two preseason home games will be more of an audition for the NHL roster. This lineup features several more minor-league players or players that are high on the call-up list for the Flyers.

It will be a first chance to see Porter Martone, Denver Barkey, and Alex Bump in an NHL preseason game after they participated in the rookie games last weekend.

It's an interesting defensive group, as all six players have some form of NHL experience, albeit mostly limited in the case of guys like Oliver Bonk, Hunter McDonald, Ty Murchison, and Helge Grans.

In goal, it will be a first look at Joseph Woll in the Orange and Black, who is expected to play two periods, while Carson Bjarnason will also participate.

The Washington Capitals roster is as follows:

Forwards

Defensemen

Goalies

The game will be televised on NBC Sports Philadelphia and broadcast on Rock 104.1.
