According to the Philadelphia Daily News, if Coyotes winger Shane Doan decides to leave Phoenix due to the team's unsettled ownership situation, the Flyers will be one of his most serious pursuers.

Doan is an unrestricted free agent and set July 9 as the date he would decide as that was the supposed date that the City of Glendale stated that the signatures were due from a petition to make prospective owner Greg Jamison's lease agreement, a referendum item on the November ballot.  The Coyotes captain wants to get a better idea of the ownership picture in Phoenix before making a decision.

Doan has been a member of the Coyotes since the team moved from Winnipeg in 1996 and has put down his roots there. He would love to stay but will have no hesitation moving if there is no resolution in the Coyotes ownership situation.

Doan would be a great fit on the Flyers' second line playing alongside Daniel Briere, registering 22 goals and 28 assists, along with winning the Mark Messier Leadership award - he would be a great replacement for Jaromir Jagr with the younger players.
