Flyers-Kraken Preview: The Deadline Aftermath

There were changes aplenty for the Flyers at Friday's deadline. As the team enters play on Saturday in their third game of a seven-game homestand, gone are Scott Laughton, Andrei Kuzmenko, and Erik Johnson.

It further showed the position the Flyers are in this season. They are five points out of a playoff spot, and joined other teams in similar position in selling at the deadline.

One of the teams with the Flyers in that position are the Seattle Kraken. The Kraken actually sit behind the Flyers in the standings at just 56 points on the season. The Flyers have 62 points.

Game time is 12:30 p.m.

Matvei Michkov did pick up his 20th goal of the season on Thursday night. Since returning from the break, Michkov has four goals and six assists for 10 points in six games.

Shane Wright has seen his play pick up of late. Wright has six of his 14 goals and 15 of his 37 points on the season in his last 14 games.

Ivan Fedotov is expected to get the start for the Flyers. Fedotov's last game was a relief appearance on Tuesday night against Calgary, making 26 saves on 28 shots. He made 29 saves on 30 shots in a shootout win over Winnipeg in his last start.

Joey Daccord is expected to get the start for the Kraken. Daccord allowed four goals on 33 shots in a loss to Nashville in his last start on Thursday. Daccord has three wins in his last nine starts.

Flyers: Following the trades of Scott Laughton and Andrei Kuzmenko, Rodrigo Abols and Olle Lycksell were called up to take their place in the lineup. Emil Andrae was called up as well and is expected to play. Egor Zamula could be scratched. Aleksei Kolosov was sent down to the AHL. Garnet Hathaway is expected to be out again with injury.
Kraken: Brandon Tanev was traded ahead of Friday's deadline. John Hayden was called up to take his place in the lineup. Jacob Melanson and Ben Meyers were sent to the AHL.
