The top 10 picks went by and there were several solid names still on the board. So Chuck Fletcher made a trade to get one of his draft picks back, moving down three spots in the first round from 11th to 14th and acquiring the 45th overall pick from Arizona.

Three picks later, with several notable forwards on the board, the Flyers opted to select a defenseman instead. They selected Cam York from the US National Development Team Program.

York is a 5'11", 172 pound blue liner who shared the ice with the likes of first overall pick Jack Hughes, Trevor Zegras, Cole Caufield and the rest of the US team. He scored 14 goals and added 51 assists for 65 points in 64 games.

York is committed to play for Michigan next season. The 18-year-old hales from Anaheim Hills, CA.
