For Philly Fans, Talk is Cheap For Emotionally Drained Eagles
The Philadelphia Eagles are trending in the wrong direction; Losers of four of their last five games, the Birds need to find their inner strength to beat the New York Giants on Sunday. Last week's loss was, in my opinion, an indication of the team's lack of preparation and cohesiveness. With the score tied at 28 and the ball on the Cardinals 30 yard line, the next three plays are a microcosm of the Eagles season:
First there was confusion between Julio Jones and Jack Stoll on who should be in the game. Next, a designed Quarterback run for four yards, followed by a read option that lost yards. After burning a valuable time out, the Eagles throw a screen pass to Kenny Gainwell that went nowhere. The Eagles are playing uninspired football and the play calling makes no sense. We have seen players out of position and this week AJ Brown admits the Eagles are ad libbing plays instead of executing the play call from the coaches. I’m tired of hearing the players talk because Talk is Cheap!! The Players have to play better or it will be an early exit from the playoffs for Philadelphia.
The upstart Flyers have fallen back to earth, losing six of their last seven games and twice in shootouts. Can the Flyers turn it around and get back to winning the way they were before their Christmas Break? The Flyers host the Calgary Flames at the Wells Fargo Center on Saturday at 1pm and you can hear the game on 973 ESPN.
The Sixers play back-to-back games Friday and Saturday against the New York Knicks and Utah Jazz. Joel Embiid is having another MVP-level season so far. If the big man can stay healthy, the Sixers ceiling is high.
