Colin Thompson is back in the NFL.

A former Sports Bash contributor and Lower Cape May assistant football coach is back in the NFL after spending the previous three seasons with the Carolina Panthers, signing a one-year deal with the Minnesota Vikings.

Thompson has been a part of the Caper Tigers staff, as an offensive coordinator, and also has his own media company called Not For Long Media, which tweeted out the news on their social media account.

Thompson hosted shows on 97.3 ESPN Radio and has appeared as a regular guest since 2019. He has spent summers training in Cape May, NJ, but now lives in Annapolis, MD with his wife Sydney.

The Archbishop Wood and Temple standout has one career catch for a touchdown, serving as mainly a blocking tight end. He has been in NFL camps with both the Bears and Giants, and played in both the AAF and XFL before latching on with the Panthers and now the Vikings.

I visited with Thompson a few weeks ago in Cape May at the C-View Inn, where he told me he was hopeful for another NFL opportunity.

Well, he got it and is heading to Minnesota.
