A former Sports Bash contributor and Lower Cape May assistant football coach is back in the NFL.

The Lower Cape May football program has plans to hold Military Appreciation Night this Friday starting at 5:30 ahead of its home football game against Lindenwold.

Sunday's TD was a reward for years of dedication and hard work that enabled him to overcome a series of obstacles, injuries and setbacks.

Thompson, who is also the offensive coordinator for the Lower Cape May Caper Tigers football team, and has been a host on 97.3 ESPN.

Colin Thompson who has been heard as a contributor on the Sports Bash and other programming on the station has reunited with his college coach Matt Rhule, who Thompson played for at Temple.

According to reports, the XFL has suspended all operations, laid off its employees and currently has no plans to return in 2021.

During tonight's XFL game between the DC Defenders and the Tampa Bay Vipers, 97.3 ESPN host Colin Thompsoin made an amazing catch off a bobble.

After leaving Temple in 2016, Thompson was in NFL camps with the Giants and Bears and before landing with the Birmingham Irons in the Alliance of American Football League and has been working out in Cape May since the league folded.
