97.3 ESPN contributor Colin Thompson is heading to the NFL.

Thompson who has been heard as a contributor on the Sports Bash and other programming on the station has reunited with his college coach Matt Rhule, who Thompson played for at Temple.

Thompson, who last played with the Tampa Vipers in the NFL, adds depth to the Panthers tight end prior to the draft.

The 6-foot-4, 256-pounder was a top tight end recruit in 2012, starting his career with the Florida Gators, before transferring home to Temple.

Thompson spent time in the AAF and also with the Bears and Giants, but hasn’t appeared in an NFL game.

He was slated to join the coaching staff at Lower Cape May for the upcoming high school football season.
