Lower Cape May Football Team to Hold Military Appreciation Night
The Lower Cape May football program has plans to hold Military Appreciation Night this Friday starting at 5:30 ahead of its home football game against Lindenwold.
The team will honor any active or retired Cape May County military servicemen and women, as well as first responders with all proceeds from the event going to the NJ run for the fallen.
The team is asking encouraging families, friends, veterans, active-duty military, and frontline workers to attend to help raise money for a great cause!
Donations will be collected for the New Jersey Run For The Fallen and can be made through Venmo to @NJRFTF. Money will also be raised through jersey sales and donations on the day of the event.
We spoke to Carolina Panthers tight end and Lower Cape May volunteer assistant coach Colin Thompson on Wednesday edition of the Sports Bash and he said that there will be three autographed Christian McCaffrey jerseys that players will be wearing, also a signed Colin Thompson jersey and more that will be available for purchase at the game as well as more jerseys, hats, food & drinks.
All proceeds go to the NJ Run For The Fallen
Per Thompson, Lower Cape May players are expected to wear special military-style jerseys for the game.
More info is available on Facebook (look up “Military Appreciation Football Game”).
Festivities are set to begin at 5:30 p.m. with a Blackhawk helicopter is flying ahead of the 7 p.m. kickoff.
