Lower Cape May Head Football Coach Lance Bailey Resigns
The Lower Cape May football program will be looking for a new leader of the program.
Lance Bailey announced via social media he has submitted his resignation as head football coach of the Cape Tigers. Bailey was hired in 2020 and had two stints as Caper Tigers head coach, also serving as head coach from 2004 to 2006.

"I was very fortunate to have great support over the years from Lower Cape Regional, Bailey told me via text message on Tuesday. "Great coaches and players that bought into the same vision WE over me mentality with self-accountability and discipline. Some of the best memories I have had are on the field with them and I can’t thank them enough."
He is a well-known figure in Cape May County and the Cape Atlantic League serving as a football official and a basketball referee. He is also a physical education teacher at the high school.
During his two stints at Lower, Bailey went 38-40 with one playoff appearance. He is a two-time divisional coach of the year and led Lower Cape May to the West Jersey Football League’s Royal Division title, their first in 41 years going 8-2 and 4-0 in the Royal division in 2023.
