Friday Night Lights Action on tap for Phillies And Eagles

The Philadelphia Eagles play their last preseason game Friday Night at home against the Cincinnati Bengals at 8pm. While none of the starters will play, it's the last game for many players trying to make the roster. The home team will be playing in front of their fans for the first and only time during the short three game pre-season.

Some people speculate the only undecided decision for the Eagles coaching staff to make is who will be the Birds backup Quarterback: Tanner McKee who is competing against Andy Dalton for the backup position. On the defensive side of the ball, Defensive Coordinator Vic Fangio said earlier this week there will be many guys fighting for roster spots. One of those players to watch for how much playing time they get is Defensive Tackle Ty Robinson gets. Another position to watch could be the safeties., with Michael Carter getting more reps in recent weeks.

The Phillies are in Anaheim to face the Angels this weekend after avoid the sweep in Seattle. The Angels are one of the worst teams in baseball, and the Phillies send Andrew Painter to the hill to face them. Painter has pitched well in the month of August, compiling a 2-0 with a 3.80 ERA. The Phillies hope he can build on his recent performances to carve out a role for the team when they get to the MLB Playoffs.
