When Giants linebacker Mark Herzlich stepped off the plane in Indianapolis for Super Bowl XLVI, he sent an inspirational message out to his Twitter followers.

The rookie linebacker has come a long way since being diagnosed with Ewing’s sarcoma in 2009. The form of bone cancer developed in his left leg and doctors told him that he would likely not be able to walk.

Then a standout player at Boston College, Herzlich was miraculously cancer-free just over four months after announcing he was sick.
