The Hammonton Blue Devils knew they would need their best going into Bridgeton to face the undefeated Bulldogs on Friday night; they got in the form of their awesome quarterback-wide receiver connection.

It's been three in a row for Hammonton after a tough season-opening loss against Holy Spirit, and now both players and coaches are finding a rhythm on both sides of the ball. Jonathan Triboletti, who also earned 97.3 ESPN's High School Athlete of the Week honors, and Alex Padovani led the Blue Devils through the air in their impressive road 24-6 win.

Listen in to hear from this tandem about how it's back to business as usual for the always competitive program:

And hats off to the Pleasantville Greyhounds, who handled Lower Cape May to secure their first victory since 2009. Despite allowing an opening kickoff return touchdown, the home team controlled the tempo the rest of the way en route to a 35-12 win. It's the end of a 35-game skid for coach David Dudley's team, which has been competitive in all four games this season.

Here’s a preview of some of the other interviews from this week’s edition of the South Jersey Sports Report:

  • He's the man that leads one of the most prolific offensive attacks in all of South Jersey, and he's only a junior. We hear from the running back who's racking up yards and "electrifying" the competition in Cumberland County
  • A dynamic trio has St. Augustine Prep as one of the only two remaining unbeaten teams in the Cape-Atlantic League. Find out why the chemistry between quarterback and wide receiver is clicking, and what the Cape-Atlantic League rushing leader learned from the Hermits' best runner last season
  • Press of Atlantic City sports writer Mike McGarry breaks down all the action in the Cape-Atlantic League, including more on Pleasantville's memorable night, proof that one team is still a legitimate contender, and which upcoming game is circled on Mike's calendar
  • The Courier Post’s Kevin Minnick breaks down the best Friday night games from across the West Jersey Football League, including the inspirational story of how a player close to walking away from football helped his team take down a defending State Champion
  • It may have been 22 years since anyone's touched the record, but now one quarterback is South Jersey's all-time passing leader. Find out who he is, and why he's gunning for one legendary high school quarterback's all-time state passing mark

We’d also like to congratulate the South Jersey Athlete of the Week:

John Triboletti

Football, Hammonton

The junior quarterback has caught fire recently, leading the Blue Devils to three straight wins. Triboletti tossed three touchdown passes in a 41-0 victory over Egg Harbor Township. He also connected with WR Alex Padovani on touchdown strikes of seven and 81 yards in the 2nd quarter to guide Hammonton to a huge road win against formerly unbeaten Bridgeton.
