Congratulations to Bryce Harper for winning the National League MVP award.  I wasn’t a fan of Harper when he was with the Washington Nationals but since the day he arrived in Philadelphia, he has done and said the right things that resonate with Philly Sports Fans.  He works hard, accepts criticism, plays hurt, wears his heart on his sleeve, and gives his all on the field.  His numbers were deserving of the honor and he is the sixth Philly to win the MVP award.  Despite the Phillies inability to win, Harper has won my heart.  The emotion he displayed talking about winning the award is the kind of attitude that other athletes in Philly should display.  That’s $330 million dollars is well spent and now I hope the Phillies can find the pieces to complement what they have moving forward. Congratulations to Bryce Harper!!!!!!

The Eagles showed improvement over the last couple of weeks and with a big win over the Broncos in Denver last Sunday, maybe they can put together back-to-back wins for the first time this season.  That would really excite the fans in our area for sure.

Meanwhile, the Flyers show signs that they have the talent to reach the playoffs and are trending in the right direction but they need to be more consistent.  Thursday Night's game against the Tampa Bay Lighting is a perfect example of their season so far: Strong first period, a letdown in the second period, and a comeback in the 3rd period.  Next up for the Flyers, on Saturday night they host the Boston Bruins. They need to win all three periods this time.

The Sixers are still in a weird place with the Ben Simmons saga hanging over their heads.  The Sixers broke their five-game losing streak by beating the Nuggets in Denver 103-89 Thursday night and now they are headed to Portland to take on the Trail Blazers at 10pm EST Saturday night.

College Basketball has started and Villanova is off to a 2-1 start while Temple is 1-2 in the early going.  Which Philly Sports team will be our next shooting star? This weekend in The Locker Room with Billy Schweim we will talk about it all!!
