Which South Jersey High Schools Had the Most Police Calls?

New data from the New Jersey Department of Education has interesting information concerning the number of students involved in at least one incident at school that led to a police notification.

Every public school in the state is listed in the DOE data.

Today, we are looking at only South Jersey public high schools in Atlantic, Cape May, and Cumberland, and two high schools in Lower Ocean County: Southern Regional High School and Pinelands Regional High School.

The data come from the annual School Performance Reports for the 2024-25 school year, the latest available data.

Millville High School led the State in Police Calls

During that period, one local high school had the highest number of incidents that led to police notifications.

Millville High School had 149 incidents that led to police notifications.

The statistics do not detail why police were called to schools or whether students were arrested.

We do know, however, that at Millville High School during this period, 66 of the students were involved in incidents related to violence that led to police notifications.

Another 14 students were involved in incidents related to weapons, and 13 students were reported for substance abuse-related allegations, according to the state statistics.
