Allegiant Airlines Announces Flights at Atlantic City International Airport
- Allegiant Airlines will begin offering flights from ACY
- New routes include several destinations in Florida
- The flights will use smaller regional airports, providing more travel options
Allegiant Airlines Adds Service to Atlantic City International Airport
Those flying in and out of Atlantic City International Airport will soon have another carrier to choose from.
For quite a number of years now, air travelers using ACY could only use Spirit Airlines, the one and only option.
That, however, is changing in just a matter of weeks.
Allegiant Announces New Routes
While a press conference was taking place at the airport on Wednesday morning, Allegiant Airlines posted on its website that it would be offering nine new routes and two new cities.
Those two cities are Huntsville, Alabama, and Atlantic City.
ACY-to-Florida Flights Coming Soon
According to the airline, the following options will begin on these dates:
- Atlantic City to/from Fort Lauderdale/Miami (FLL) - 12/11/2025
- Atlantic City to/from Fort Myers/Punta Gorda (PGD) - 02/13/2026
- Atlantic City to/from Tampa/St. Pete (PIE) - 02/13/2026
- Atlantic City to/from Orlando/Sanford (SFB) - 12/19/2025
Smaller Airports, More Affordable Travel
Note that service to those locations is using smaller airports in those regions.
For example, the flight to Tampa would be going in and out of St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport, not the international airport in Tampa itself.
The "Orlando" flight would be landing in Sanford, FL, which is about a half-hour drive away.

Regardless, those looking to fly to the Sunshine State will soon have many more options and some flights would be as low as $39, plus fees, taxes, etc.
Gov. Murphy Comments
Gov. Phil Murphy said in a press release,
Allegiant Air’s addition of four new flights from Atlantic City International Airport represents a significant investment in New Jersey's travel infrastructure. This expansion will create new travel opportunities for New Jerseyans, fueling the future success of transportation reliability across our state.
Stephen F. Dougherty, Director of the South Jersey Transportation Authority also commented,
The collaboration between Allegiant Air and Atlantic City International Airport will benefit travelers, tourism, and our business community for many years to come.
Smaller is Better
It is estimated that just over one million people use ACY airport every year. That is a much smaller number compared to the 31 million travelers that went through Philadelphia International Airport in 2024, or the nearly 50 million that went through Newark Liberty in North Jersey.
The South Jersey Transportation Authority, which runs ACY, uses that to its advantage, often promoting a much easier and stress-free experience compared to those in neighboring big cities.
