It’s no secret that New Jersey Senator Vince Polistina and Atlantic City Mayor Marty Small have not seen eye-to eye in the past.

Much Credit To Both Leaders

The Senator and Mayor came together and met for the first time ever. The meeting took place earlier this week in Mayor Small’s office at Atlantic City Hall.

The meeting lasted for more than one hour and was very productive in nature.

  • New Jersey Senator Vince Polistina
  • Atlantic City Mayor Marty Small
  • Joe Berg — Chief of Staff for Senator Polistina
  • Anthony Swan — Atlantic City Business Administrator

We interviewed Senator Polistina Earlier This Morning

Polistina was very positive about the meeting, saying:

We discussed many issues and we had many areas of agreement, such as Renaissance Plaza and social services in Atlantic City, said Polistina.

Polistina Also Was Lighthearted When He Said

When we disagree with each other, we will yell at each other in private, joked Polistina.

Some Differences Remain

Polistina wants additional dollars sent to the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority through the crediting mechanism within the approved Pilot (payment in lieu of taxes).

Polistina Complimented Atlantic County Prosecutor Will Reynolds During Our On-Air Interview

Polistina complimented The job that the Atlantic County Prosecutor (Will Reynolds) is doing in Atlantic City.

Regarding crime, particularly violent crime… there is no question about that. There has not been a murder in Atlantic City in 2026. Additionally, violent crime is also down in Atlantic City.

Much credit here goes to Chief Jim Sarkos and the Atlantic City Police Department.

Marty Small Is No Will Reynolds Fan

You cannot blame Marty Small for harboring bad feelings about Will Reynolds, regarding the prosecution that he, his wife La’Quetta Small and Constance Days-Chapman all faced.

All three were resoundingly exonerated of all criminal charges that they faced.

For The Best Atlantic City Result

Things are at their best for Atlantic City when the Senator and Mayor have a good, productive working relationship.

This week’s cordial meeting is a very good start
