Northfield, New Jersey Man Convicted Of Firearms & Drugs

The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office has confirmed that a Northfield, New Jersey man has been sentenced for firearms and narcotics offenses.

It is yet another guilty plea achieved by the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office.

Ellis pleaded guilty on Monday, June 22, 2026, before New Jersey Superior Court Judge Donna Taylor.

Ellis previously pleaded guilty to:

two counts of third-degree possession with the intent to distribute CDS.
two counts of second-degree possession of a handgun without a permit.

Ellis Is Sentenced

Jerome Ellis, 57 years old, from Northfield, New Jersey, was sentenced to 5 years in New Jersey State Prison.

Ellis has also received a three-and-a-half-year period of parole ineligibility.

Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Has Shared The Following Case Details

On January 22, 2025, New Jersey State Police and other participating law enforcement agencies executed a search warrant at 311 Maple Ave, Northfield as a result a narcotics investigation.
During the search of the residence, detectives located two defaced firearms in the basement of the residence, one imitation firearm in the living room section of the residence, and approximately $5,692.00 scattered throughout the residence. Ellis was located outside of the residence at the time of the execution of the search warrant. A search of his person revealed approximately 45 white wax folds located within the defendant's jacket pocket. A search of the vehicle driven by Ellis during the course of the investigation revealed crack cocaine located in the driver side compartment of the vehicle, said the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office.
