Sixers assistant coach Monty Williams has become a hot name in the coaching world.  He has met with both the Los Angles Lakers and Phoenix Suns recently about their vacant head coaching positions.

Williams was last a head coach for the New Orleans Hornets from 2010-15, making the playoffs twice. After a year in the Spurs front office, he returned to coaching this season with the Sixers.

At least one current NBA player believes Williams would be the perfect fit for the Sun position, current Nets forward Jared Dudley, yes, that Jared Dudley.

Speaking on Arizona's 98.7 Bickley & Marotta Show, Dudley, a former Sun, said that he felt Williams would be a great fit for the Suns.

“Monty would be big-time for the Suns,” he said. “His leadership skills, accountability skills — when he walks in he’s a leader of men. I thought his Xs and Os that I had heard through other players, players respect him.

“You’re not going to be able to disrespect him or undermine anything he has to do and I really think if not the Suns, there will be a team he’s a head coach for really, really soon.”
