Just one day after being named to the NBA's All-Defensive Second Team, Joel Embiid was named to the All-NBA Second Team.

Last season, Embiid made the Second Team behind Anthony Davis, who got 96 first-team ballots compared to Joel's 11. This season, Nikola Jokic got First Team honors, but was only 36 points ahead on the ballot. This is Joel's second straight appearance on the All-NBA Second Team. If not for his knee injury in the second half of the season, Embiid could very well have made the First Team.

In 64 games during the 2018-19 season, Embiid posted averages of 27.5 points, 13.6 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.9 blocks. In 11 playoff games, he averaged 20.2 points and 10.5 boards on 42.8 percent shooting.

Meanwhile, Ben Simmons received seven votes for the All-NBA Third Team while Tobias Harris got two votes for the Third Team. Jimmy Butler did not receive any votes.
