Local Athletes Rise Above Setbacks
It's been a long, difficult journey for one local soccer player.
Ocean City's George Meyers has been a part of dozens of wins with his Red Raiders teammates, but also has experienced the personal agony that accompanies an unexpected physical setback.
A career-threatening leg injury during his junior season eventually led to ten surgeries and an intense physical rehabilitation program. Motivated to not only run normally again but also set foot on a soccer field, Meyers exceeded all expectations and put up some serious numbers on the pitch last fall.
Find out more on his long road to recovery, and how he made it back onto the field despite serious doubts from doctors.
And another local athlete also battled a severe injury during her junior season; now she's one of the top pitchers in all of South Jersey.
