Longtime Buena football head coach Jonathan Caputo has stepped down after nine seasons on the sidelines with the Chiefs.

Caputo ends his career with a 56-37 record, two conference titles, and three sectional semifinal appearances under his leadership. During his time at Buena, the Chiefs were one of the better teams in South Jersey Group 1 the past couple of years.

The Chiefs were always a tough-minded team and even tougher team to prepare for because they run the Delaware Wing-T offense, and have produced some very good offensive teams during his time as head coach.

Caputo told the Cocourier post that part of the reason is that he has two kids in high school and wanting to see them play. He also didn't rule out that he would make a return to the sidelines at some point in the future.
