As the calendar flips to February we are just one month away from March Madness.

March Madness will be returning this season to Atlantic City's Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall as The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championships returns from March 5-10.

The MAAC Tournament’s Long-Term Future in Atlantic City

This was the final year the tournament was slated to be played in Atlantic City, but it was announced on Tuesday that the event has agreed to a five-year extension to return to the gambling resort.

“Atlantic City’s long-term investment in the MAAC Basketball Championships gives us the ability to continue elevating the Conference’s marquee event and delivering an outstanding experience for our student-athletes, member institutions, and fans,” said MAAC Commissioner Travis Tellitocci in a press release.

The new agreement will keep the tournament in Atlantic City through the 2031 season.

New Dates and Schedule Changes for This Season

This year, the tournament will be held a week earlier, with the tourney starting on a Thursday and ending on a Tuesday.
