March Madness Returning to Boardwalk Hall: Atlantic City Area Locals Need to Support This Great Event
We have officially reached March Madness.
March is a big month for college basketball fans, with teams trying to punch their ticket to the NCAA Tournament. In recent years, the 'madness' has made a stop in Atlantic City at Boardwalk Hall, but few locals have been out to support it.
Let's hope that changes this year.

The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference holds its men's and women's tournaments in Atlantic City. The winning teams receive an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament, which has a field of 68 teams.
In 2022, fans go to witness the St. Peter's Peacocks win the MAAC championship at Boardwalk Hall, then upset their way to the Elite Eight. In 2023, fans in Atlantic City got to see Rick Pitino's Iona Gaels win the MAAC. It was Pitino's last season before leaving to take over at St. John's.
While there have been some great games, moments, and memories in Atlantic City, the attendance hasn't been great.
Let's change that this season or risk losing another great family-friendly event in Atlantic City.
Locals always love to complain about Atlantic City, but this is something that they do that should be praised. It is high-level, Division One college basketball with the right to play in the NCAA Tournament at a venue that is unmatched when it comes to watching basketball.
I wrote an article about how locals need to do a better job of supporting this event after going to games in an empty arena last year. The time has come to make sure we do, or risk losing it like we have so many other great sporting events in the city.
This event isn't about having a rooting interest or a favorite team. It's a night out with friends. It's a place to take the family to watch high-quality college basketball in an awesome venue.
I will be doing my part. I will be not only at some of the games, but I will also be giving away over 100 tickets on the Sports Bash to local listeners who want to support the event.
This is an opportunity to support something local and have a great time doing it, so I hope to see many more people this year at the MAAC Basketball Tournament from March 11-15 at Boardwalk Hall.
